I hope your Easter Sunday was amazing. The day was absolutely beautiful, making it a perfect day for enjoying some time outside.
My family doesn’t do the whole dress up thing for Easter, but we do like those Easter sales that pop up just before the holiday. They always appear just in time to select pieces for spring and summer. After going through my closet and getting rid of things that were damaged and that I knew I’d never wear, I saw that my neutrals were taking over. I have to admit that I have a passion for neutrals. So I pushed myself to go a little outside of my comfort zone this season. These are the colors I came up with to streamline my closet (capsule):
Neutrals : Cream, Black and Grey
Almost Neutrals: Blush and Navy
Statement: Fuchsia and Yellow
With my current weight loss challenge, I don’t want to invest too much in clothes right now, but I am looking to replace a few of those things that I purged this season.
I got this cute pink top (originally $79.50 – now out of stock) on clearance at Ann Taylor for $29.88 with 40% off, taking it down to a lovely $17.93. The shoes were also purchased at Ann Taylor (originally $148) on sale for $89.88 with an additional 50% off. The best part about this deal was that I had a $40 reward credit that I used on my purchase that brought my total down to a magnificent $4.94 out of pocket!
I love a good sale, but I love it even more when I’m able to catch a phenomenal deal, and this was just that! After the excitement from this score, I was ready for some weekend fun and grilling with the family! After all, who doesn’t like to eat after a little shopping?
We love this time of the year for cooking on the grill, and this family of 12 grilled
10 lbs of chicken,
two slabs of ribs,
and 10 lbs of burgers.
That seems like a crazy amount of meat to eat right?
Well, that’s because our grill is, like, huge and cooking only for one day is not making good use of our grill. So, we always take advantage of grilling time by cooking whatever we can put on the grill and making it last through the week. That means that we’ll have enough meat for leftovers for at least two more days, which will be a huge time saver as I’m preparing for the new Everything Dawn product line to come out next month.
I’d call that another score!
On that note, I have a couple of newly created recipes coming up that we tested this weekend. They turned out to be amazing additions to the recipe collection that I’ve started. I’ll be showing you some of those really soon (after I get everything in legible order from the scribbly notes I’ve taken).
What did you do to celebrate the weekend?
