The weekend is making its appearance and I’ve been awake since 4 am Thursday. I just left the ER at 6 this morning after a visit sparked by my littlest guy struggling to get air in those tiny lungs of his.
This dreadful sick spell, that’s going through my house, was picked up when I took one of the kids to the dentist’s office, and while it appears to be some sort of a cold, it comes in stages.
First, there’s a painful sore throat followed by a fever and runny nose. Then there’s this throbbing nuisance of a headache, and as if that wasn’t enough, that’s followed by a deep cough to wrap things up.
I have one child completely finished this thing. Then I have three others finishing up with the nasty cough, and my littlest is just on the runny nose stage. When this little guy gets a cold of any sort, it usually leads to all kinds of barking, croupy sounds followed by a super shot of Decadron. Not something I like, so I’m really glad he’s not sick often.
In short, this mama needs some seriously strong java to make it through the rest of the morning with these never tired pint sizers. That makes it a perfect time to whip up some of my strong cinnamon doughnut coffee (latte).
I got the idea for this latte when I was making batches of Cinnamon Sugared Doughnut wax melts for the Everything Dawn Bakery Candles shop. Any time I can make a coffeehouse drink at home without going out, I’m in! Today, I’m betting I’ll hit the three cup mark with the way my morning has been going.
